About the project
As Vivint’s product portfolio expanded, high-quality CGI became increasingly important across product launches, ecommerce, campaign creative, digital experiences, and sales materials. What began as hands-on exploration into 3D rendering evolved into the development of a broader visualization system designed to make Vivint products feel consistent, premium, and unmistakably part of the same brand. The work grew from creating individual assets into establishing a repeatable visual language and directing specialized external partners capable of producing at greater scale and technical complexity.
Challenge
Product renders were being created across different programs, projects, vendors, and use cases without a sufficiently consistent visual standard. Lighting, materials, camera perspective, environments, and overall finish could vary significantly depending on who created the work. The challenge was to establish a system that could scale across products and partners while maintaining the same level of craft and visual consistency.
Approach
I first developed enough hands-on knowledge of the process in the induestry standard Cinema4D to understand the technical and creative decisions behind the work. That foundation allowed me to define a clearer visual standard around lighting, materials, camera perspective, composition, product accuracy, and environmental storytelling. As the scope became more sophisticated, I transitioned from execution into creative direction—building references, reviewing iterations, directing external visualization partners, and maintaining consistency across isolated product imagery, lifestyle environments, animation, and launch assets. The objective was not simply to create better renders. It was to create a visualization system that could continue producing better renders at scale.
Role
Impact / Usage
The visualization system became a reusable foundation for product launches, ecommerce, paid media, social, sales enablement, internal presentations, and ongoing brand work. More importantly, it gave Vivint a consistent way to represent hardware across different products, vendors, and channels without having to reinvent the visual language each time.
